Next it was time to design one of the best lead-generation tools for local service businesses; Business Cards. Wanting to create something that would truly stand out, we designed business cards with a beautiful matte black with golden accents and even applied gold-painted edges to make them pop. These eye-catching business card designs have become a fan favourite, receiving tons of compliments and perfectly mirroring the premium quality of service provided by Legendary Sound.

Website Design for a DJ Company

With great progress made on the brand identity design, we could finally get to work on the most important lead-generation asset for most businesses; a website. We chose WordPress as the platform to build their website as they were looking for a highly scalable solution that would allow them to grow and integrate easily with other software.

Initial Website Design

We started small with a single-page website designed to help capture leads as quickly as possible. By starting small, Legendary Sound could focus on building revenue which could be used to further expand the website without spending valuable business capital which could be used for advertising or SEO. The initial website used a landing page style design with a clear call-to-action (CTA), a section for each of the main services offered, highlights of reviews and testimonials from past clients, and most importantly, well-designed forms that are used to capture leads.

Website Expansion

From there, we expanded their website with a contact page, services page, blog/resources page and even a careers page to help them discover new talent. Once the website was big enough to cover all aspects of Legendary Sound’s services, we began to work on improving the user experience (UX/UI) and began mapping visitor journeys to improve the experience of using the website to get a quote.

Additionally, to appeal to the company’s various audience demographics of wedding couples, corporate clients, schools and other event types, we began to create additional service pages and blog articles that would help to generate more high-quality traffic and leads. Content Marketing

Although there was already lots of content on Legendary Sound’s website, we discovered that there were many opportunities for us to create a specific type of content that would generate very high-quality website traffic without much difficulty. We focused on creating content that centred around the questions frequently asked by potential clients looking for DJ services.

We created six different blog posts that had great appeal to those currently shopping for a wedding DJ, and then combined them all into a well-designed PDF guide that could be used as a lead magnet. Each of the six blog posts would begin to rank on Google and bring in traffic while the lead-magnet would help us convert that traffic into leads! The plan worked wonderfully and within a few months of launching, one of the blog posts made it to the first page of google!

Since the blog posts we had created were performing very well, we combined them all into an “Ultimate Guide to Hiring a Wedding DJ” which we could use as a Lead Magnet. We use Lead Magnets to “attract” potential leads and capture their contact information in exchange for high-value content.

Knowing that Legendary would be entering a competitive market, utilizing an Instagram account with an existing following would be better than building a new audience from scratch. The authority of refocusing an existing account with a larger following to become dedicated to publishing Legendary Sound content would also support the business’s authority and maximize potential audience reach.

Paid Advertising For A DJ Company

We partnered with Legendary Sound to run ad campaigns specifically targeting newly engaged couples across the Greater Toronto Area. The timing of these campaigns was critical, as peak engagement season is typically between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day, meaning many couples begin taking wedding planning seriously within 3 months of an engagement. The two ad platforms that we recommend the most to local service businesses are Google & Meta (Facebook). The two platforms are very different but when combined you can generate some truly incredible results for your business.

Google Ads PPC Campaign

We implemented a tailored Google Ads pay-per-click (PPC) campaign that significantly boosted Legendary Sound’s online visibility and event bookings across the Greater Toronto Area. By targeting high-intent keywords such as “Wedding DJ near me,” “How much does a wedding DJ cost,” and “professional DJ,” we ensured Legendary Sound appeared at the top of search results when potential clients were actively seeking their services.

We started this Google Ads PPC Campaign off with the campaign goal set to maximize clicks in order to get as many visitors to our website as possible. Equally as important, this would help us generate the data that we would need to further optimize and improve the campaign. Once enough data had been built, we finished setting up our conversion tracking and changed our campaign goal to maximize conversions so that Google would know to only show our ads to people who are most likely to book our services.

Our strategic ad placement, paired with conversion-focused landing pages drove a steady stream of website traffic that browsed our website, filled out our quote forms and converted into consultations and event bookings. Although it took a considerable amount of work to develop the Google Ads campaign, it has become an immense source of revenue leading to increased business year over year.

Facebook & Instagram Ads

We worked with Legendary Sound to generate a variety of different ads to see which would perform the best. We used Lead Generation ads to gather contact information from recently engaged couples which we used to schedule consultations. We also created a series of ads which offered a discount on our services and ran an experiment to see which of the ad images and headlines performed the best.

We also created a variety of different ad styles to target couples throughout their engagement journey and prioritized campaign spending to coincide with when couples typically ramp up wedding planning to optimize ad spend and maximize potential lead generation. Here is a snapshot of some of the results that we achieved with one of our lead-generation campaigns. Although not all of these leads converted into sales, Legendary Sound only needed 1 or 2 leads to convert in order for their campaign to be profitable.

SEO Campaign For a DJ Company

With a steady stream of traffic coming in through the paid ads, we began to change our focus to Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in order to build long-term organic traffic that wouldn’t cost anything to acquire. With a great SEO foundation already established, we set out to find some more advanced opportunities to build organic traffic.

Keyword Research

After analyzing the most common keywords for a local DJ company in Toronto, we created a list of the best keyword opportunities and established a campaign to generate content that would help us capture those keyword positions. We began integrating these keywords into content and have seen a slow and steady rise in rankings. Starting with the homepage and working our way through the top-level pages we optimized the content for keywords such as “wedding dj company” and “toronto wedding dj.”

SEO Content Creation

Looking at the traffic on Legendary Sound’s blog we noticed that a blog post titled “How much does a wedding DJ cost” was performing the best, but still ranking quite low on Google. This means that there was a chance to generate a lot more traffic if we can increase its rankings. We invested a great deal of work into this blog post by increasing its overall length, adding high-quality images as well as a YouTube video. As a result, within a few weeks this post began ranking #1 on Google and bringing in hundreds of visitors to the website every month.

Similarly, we created a blog post featuring some fun entertainment ideas for a school prom which very quickly rose to a very high position on Google and currently brings in about 500 new visitors to our website every month.
