Richard Cosh is a serial entrepreneur from Toronto, Canada who has built a reputation as a skilled tradesman and a successful digital marketer. While working in the trades, Rich had been building his career as a freelance DJ for several years before he decided to launch his very own company.

Working with the Grapevine team, we assembled a few basic logo concepts until we came across something we liked. Then we took the basic concept and brought life using our favorite design tool; Canva.

Website Design & Development for a DJ Company

Now that we had an idea of the brand direction, we could begin building the website. Since Rich was looking for a highly scalable solution, we chose WordPress as the platform to build on. We started small with a single landing page to capture leads and slowly developed a page of each of his main service types.

Once his website was big enough to cover the main details of his business, we began to work on the UX/UI and began mapping visitor journeys to improve the experience of using the website to get a quote. Finally, to complete the next stage of his site, we began to create resources and blog articles that would help people to hire a Wedding DJ. Over time we assembled these blog posts into a PDF Guide which would help us to capture leads on the website.

Knowing that Rich would be entering a competitive market, we decided that acquiring an Instagram account with an existing following would be better than building a new audience from scratch. The authority of the account would also help make up for the lack of reputation all new businesses face during startup.

PDF Guide Lead Magnet

Since Rich was starting to accumulate some high-value content on his blog, we decided that piecing the posts together into an “Ultimate Guide to Hiring a Wedding DJ” which we could turn into a Lead Magnet. We use Lead Magnets to “attract” potential leads and capture their contact information in exchange for high-value content.

Since Rich wanted this to be a large PDF Guide, we decided to use our favourite design tool; Canva! We used Canva to convert all of his blog posts into a fluid PDF Guide that became the focus for new leads on his site.

Aside from turning the blog posts into a guide, the entire process also helped to improve the quality and content of the blog posts themselves, which will pay dividends over the course of the business lifespan.

We began integrating these keywords into content and have seen a slow and steady rise in rankings.
